National Litter Strategy Communications Partner Guide

Almost 250 million visible items are littered each year and there are at least 61,000 incidents of fly-tipping; nearly 170 every single day.

In June 2014 the Scottish Government published a national litter strategy to encourage people to take personal responsibility through information, infrastructure and enforcement.

Early actions included the increase in fixed penalties for littering and fly-tipping (April 2014) and a National Litter Campaign (June 2014).

The National Litter Strategy Communications Partner Guide contains material you can use to support the strategy.
