New national park campaign aims to prevent litter

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park is marking National Parks Week (25 – 31 July) by launching a new campaign encouraging visitors to help take care of this special place.

In response to the ‘Respect Your Park’ campaign, launched jointly by the national park, Forest Enterprise Scotland and Police Scotland, Iain Gulland, Chief Executive, Zero Waste Scotland said:

“The ‘Respect Your Park’ campaign being launched today (Monday 25th July) in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, an outstanding area of natural beauty, is a terrific initiative, to remind the park visitors of the importance of looking after our beautiful parks and public spaces by not littering, so that everyone can enjoy them.

“When it comes to tackling litter, our research shows that prevention is much better than cure. If everyone takes responsibility for binning, bagging or taking home rubbish, rather than just dropping it, it will be a huge boon to our economy and environment.”
