Research Analyst

Fixed Term for 24 Months

Zero Waste Scotland, Scotland’s resource efficiency and circular economy expert, is looking to appoint a Research Analyst to provide analytical and research support to Zero Waste Scotland departments to enable them to develop their work streams effectively through robust research and programme insight, and to monitor progress against targets. 

Our research analysts conduct direct analysis in-house, and also design, commission, and project manage externally commissioned research, evidence-gathering, and impact assessment work. 

This role will specifically focus on our work to support development of extended producer responsibility schemes, tackle single use items, and continue to support development of a deposit return scheme for Scotland.  Research asks may vary from market analysis, to technical questions, and consumer research.  Experience with a variety of research methods in varying contexts is therefore essential.  Familiarity with the specific policy areas in question would be helpful.

The ideal candidate

To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a discipline involving numerical skills or research methods application and have a strong background in a range of research based skills, such as statistics, market or social research or economics. You will be experienced in carrying our research and evidence gathering as well as having strong project management and communication skills.

Salary and benefits

£40,503 (pay range is £40,503 - £45,003 per annum and the successful candidate will be appointed to the starting point).

This post is fixed term for 24 months.

This role is based in our Stirling office located next to Stirling railway station and is conveniently accessed from across central Scotland.
