Research & Analysis Manager

We are now looking to recruit an exceptional research and analysis professional. This is an exciting new role in which you will be at the helm of innovative environmental research. We are looking for a passionate and pioneering leader who will work to expand our research and innovation agenda in partnership with the Scottish Government, other key stakeholders and a range of networks including but not limited to; research institutes, think tanks, policy makers and academic institutions.

As Research and Analysis Manager you will work closely with senior colleagues, external stakeholders and partners to develop specific opportunities within the innovation pipeline; commissioning high level research, directing medium and large scale research and evaluation studies which support carbon reduction and have positive economic impact. You will be responsible for managing and leading on a portfolio of research projects, embedding Zero Waste Scotland’s research agenda as well as developing an analytics hub, evaluation frameworks and research plans which are aligned to our strategic goals.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have a background in statistics/research/information analysis and research techniques with a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. An impressive track record in research and evaluation proposals together with expertise in quantitative methods to evaluation of problems will stand you in excellent stead. As an experienced research practitioner and leader in your field you, will be an expert in analysing highly complex data with the ability to lead and influence others in your thinking and approach. You will have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including the judicious use of data and evidence to support a compelling case for behaviour change. A natural people person and coach you will have an innate ability to manage and get the best out of your team.

Knowledge and understanding of the environmental industry and environmental issues would be advantageous.

Salary and benefits 

The pay range is £50,010 - £55,566 (Grade D) and the successful candidate will be appointed to the starting point.

Location:  Stirling / Flexible / Homebased working considered

This role is based in our Stirling office located next to Stirling railway station and is conveniently accessed from across central Scotland.  We are leading by example in reducing our carbon footprint by embracing hybrid and permanent home working and actively encourage this for colleagues where practicable. There will be times for business needs that you are required to attend the office or a client location (normally within the Central Belt of Scotland)
