A cascade training session for stakeholders to be able to deliver re-usable menstrual products awareness sessions

It's estimated that the average woman will dispose of 11,000 period products in her lifetime. To tackle this one aspect of our throwaway society, Zero Waste Scotland is planning the delivery of a re-usable period products campaign in November 2019, supported by Scottish Government and European Regional Development Funding. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness and encourage a higher uptake of re-usable products wherever possible, with the aim of driving long term behaviour change to encourage more of a switch from disposable options

Location : SocietyM Meeting rooms, Glasgow, G2 3BD

Date : From 01/11/2019 - 10:00 to 12:30

As part of our campaign communications, we would encourage our community partners to deliver workshops to discuss the environmental impact of period products; the re-usable options available; and the perceived benefits and barriers to switching to a re-usable option.

We're inviting our community partners, social enterprises and organisations interested in this issue to come along to one of our cascade training sessions to:

  • Hear findings from an extensive consumer research study on re-usable period products
  • Learn about environmental impacts of disposable versus re-usable options
  • Get the facts on re-usable period products to be able to deliver a session of your own
  • Take part in group discussions around the issues of making the switch
  • Find out more about our upcoming campaign and ways to get involved
  • Network with other organisations and groups in your area.
